My son found this idea in an old cooking magazine when he was looking for recipes for a class assignment. He couldn't wait to make this for dessert and kept begging me to buy Peeps when I went to town. I finally provided the desired chicks and he went to work. I think he did pretty good for a 10 year old- watch your back Gordon Ramsay I have a budding chef in my house.
To make this sunflower cake, you will need:
2 prepared round cakes- I think we used 8 inch pans
4 boxes of Peeps
Here are the steps my son followed:
First, layer and frost the round cakes.
Next, take the frosted cake and place the Peeps around the perimeter of the top layer.
Refrigerate or chill. Then, like all 10 year olds, LICK the bowl of frosting!
Do you have any easy ideas for kids to bake?
