Tortilla Pinwheels

I am starting to become desperate in the hunt for cool snack ideas that don't require an oven.  We whipped up a batch of pinwheels for a fun snack and the house remained cool.  The children, surprisingly, love these and you can adapt them with a variety of veggies like chopped jalapenos, broccoli bits, carrot shreds, and more.

Here's what you need:
  • 8 ounces cheddar or Colby cheese
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 1/4 cup diced olives
  • garlic salt to taste
  • 8 - 10 flour tortillas
Here's how we rolled up a delicious treat:

Mix the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, olives, and salt well.  Spread thinly over each tortilla covering the entire circle.

Starting from one end, roll the tortilla.

Slice the tortilla into 1/4 inch pieces, creating small pinwheels.

Refrigerate and serve cold.

Nicole...when I did daycare I made peanut butter burritos. Just spread peanut butter on tortillas and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Roll them up and your done! The kids loved them. My kids still eat them today. You could also use raisins or maybe even bananas. Just another idea for you.

These are so much fun! My kids love them with anything! Our most recent was shredded carrots and cucumbers with hummus!
