I am starting to become desperate in the hunt for cool snack ideas that don't require an oven. We whipped up a batch of pinwheels for a fun snack and the house remained cool. The children, surprisingly, love these and you can adapt them with a variety of veggies like chopped jalapenos, broccoli bits, carrot shreds, and more.
Here's what you need:
- 8 ounces cheddar or Colby cheese
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 1/4 cup diced olives
- garlic salt to taste
- 8 - 10 flour tortillas
Mix the cheddar cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, olives, and salt well. Spread thinly over each tortilla covering the entire circle.
Starting from one end, roll the tortilla.
Slice the tortilla into 1/4 inch pieces, creating small pinwheels.
Refrigerate and serve cold.
