Today our temps are going to reach 100 again. Just last week we were freezing and the heater was still on. I love Nebraska weather. It's got me thinking about this time of year again- the dreaded swimsuit season. You know it's near when women fret and stew over their hips and hair removal routines.
A few years ago I snagged the hippest swimsuit around. It's almost one of a kind! I bought it solely for prosperity and to use in a random history lesson. I don't know how old it is, but I am guessing it is probably from the 1920's. I had to laugh when I examined this beauty up close. She is made from a coarse fabric that is dense and resembles a woolen coat. I even noticed she comes with a built-in skirt for those of us who don't want to show our curves.
My old gal has seen her share of days in the sun. I can tell where she has been darned and repaired. I think this old gal has seen her last splash in a pool a few decades ago. Actually, she probably has never graced a swimming pool...
I don't know if I would have the courage to wear a bikini or this nostalgia. I offered it for a friend to borrow and she balked. She settled for a nice little number from Old Navy. I will also pass and ponder how lucky we are to have better choices...
On the plus side- if I did wear this antique no one would be looking at my cellulite or stubble.
Are you ready for the swimsuit season? What will you be wearing?
