Sidewalk Paints

We have been cooped up way too long this spring.  So when all the frost from this morning had vanished and the sun felt like it might be working, we broke free from our indoor sanctuary.  I wanted something interesting to do while the kids took in the fresh air.  I broke out an old standby that we haven't used since last fall.

Sidewalk paints are the best.  They keep the children occupied, are cheap, and look really spectacular when they dry.  Plus, I already have the materials needed!
Here is what you will need:
Here is what you do:
  • in your container (I used old glass jars) add 2 HEAPING tablespoons of cornstarch
  • add your watercolor and use as much as you want-  we prefer vibrant colors so it takes more
  • fill the container with water
  • stir
I am including a link so you can see what liquid watercolors look like.  I use mine all the time!

Michelle at  Heartfelt Balance Handmade Life linked her post about homemade sidewalk chalk to my post.  Check it out and see what her family was recently up to.  They have some very creative chalk.

What does your family enjoy when the weather turns warm again?

Thanks for stopping by my blog!! I'm following you now. I've been waiting to do a Homemade Sidewalk chalk post. I might link you to that when I do it. I love this idea. I was thinking I might post it Friday. Maybe I'll do it tomorrow before my Thankful Thursday post. Or maybe I'll combine them! LOL At any rate, I'll link to you in the post, if that's okay. Have a great Wednesday!
